It's the first time a team won a game 1-0 on a walk-off home run, while managing two hits or fewer since April 30, 1991, when the Expos beat Mike Morgan and the Dodgers 1-0 on a walk-off home run by Delino DeShields.
It was the second time in franchise history that the Angels won a game 1-0 on a walk-off homer. The other was in 1978 when Joe Rudi homered in the 11th inning to beat the Twins.
This was only the fifth time in Angels' history that they won a game 1-0 with two hits or fewer. It was the first such occurrence since July 21, 2011, when the Angels had two hits in a 1-0 win over the Rangers.
The Red Sox had not lost a game in which they allowed two hits or fewer since 1998, when they dropped a 1-0 decision to the Mets. They had won 51 straight regular-season games when allowing no hits, one hit, or two hits.
